Why the client chose Nordblooms

  • Maintenance-free
  • Real plants
  • No sunlight needed
  • Suits a curated interior
  • Built into the architecture

The brief

Energy Plus’s new office was designed by Drimia with greenery built into the architecture: lit channels set into the walls, niches beside reception, and wood planter boxes between the desks. Each needed planting that stays as it looks on the first day, with no watering, no daylight and no service visits.

The challenge

Each space set its own terms. The moss channels are long and narrow, lit by a strip of LED, and run through the corridor and the private offices. The niches are shallow and face the reception desk. The planter boxes sit between workstations, so the planting had to divide the desks without crowding them.

The solution

We filled the channels with preserved moss in more than one texture, flat moss with rounded cushion moss and touches of yellow-green, so each one reads as a single unbroken line of green under the light. Each niche holds a loose arrangement of preserved flowers and greenery in a glass vase. The planter boxes were planted with preserved grasses, eucalyptus and cream blooms, full enough to screen one desk from the next.

The result

Green now runs through the office at three levels: in the planters between the desks, in the niches at eye level, and along the walls. All of it is real moss, foliage and flowers, preserved, so none of it needs water, daylight or a maintenance contract.
